When my mother died suddenly in 2008, we didn’t know that she’d had a heart attack. A few days later, we heard that this was the case. Living in a small, rural village, she didn’t have much chance of survival as the ambulance took a while to reach her. With such a massive heart attack, it’s unlikely that anyone could have done anything to help. After Mum died, Sebastian Rees and others from her village set up the ‘Heart of the Valleys – Community First Responder Teams’, to provide immediate assistance to local people in medical distress. They’ve have gone from strength to strength and have since been called on more than 225 times. I’m delighted to have been able to support this worthwhile cause through my company and suggest that you go and have a look at their work. If you look under Project Information/In Memorium/Cris Urry, you’ll find out more about how they started. |
