The Project Management Institute invited me to present a three hour workshop to their Global Congress EMEA in Barcelona, Spain in May 2016, alongside a Greek project manager named Evi Prokopi.

Here you can find the paper we wrote together on ‘Leading Virtual Project Teams: Dos and Don’ts’.

At the Congress workshop, I asked groups of project managers what challenges they faced with their virtual project teams. This is the result of their answers:

Here are the outputs of the day, including the presentation and with many photographs of the workshop and all the activity and exercises.

I challenged tables to don masks and then create a square from a piece of navy wool. There were lots of different results and lots of learning about how it feels to have body language and other visual information cut off.
